We were in Gilbert and wanted a quick bite and the food was pretty good! We ordered the 2 hotdogs (garden dogs) with mustard, peppers, tomato's, relish, onions, ADD ketchup, with a large fry and drink. $18 was the total. This is the only vegan/veggie option. If you are hungry and thinking about sharing this meal, think again. Might want to order 2 of these. Place is pretty spacious and I love a place that has outdoor sitting which was a plus. It took about 10 minutes for our order to be completed, maybe because it was the garden dog, but the wait wasn't too bad. Would definitely come again!

Consistently good food, a taste of Chicago. When I come here, it reminds me of Chicago. The service is fast, no wait. The place is clean and gives you that hometown feeling.

I like this Portillo's location near SanTan Village in Gilbert. It is a 7,800 square-foot space that has a retro garage theme to it. It also has a large parking lot. Portillo's is a chain that originated in Chicago in the early 60's and are known for their Chicago-style hot dogs. There are lots of photos on the wall that pay homage to their early days. Besides their hot dogs, I love the Italian Beef with Peppers, Onion Rings, Broiled Chicken Sandwich and the Chocolate Cake Shake. I recently came here and got to try one of their new salads off their menu. My first Portillo's experience was actually in Chicago. I remember trying my first Chicago-style dog and really enjoying it. Ever since my first trip to the Windy City back in 2012, Portillo's locations have been popping up all over the Valley. We have a lot of people from Chicago that live here and lately AZ has become home to many of their restaurants. When the employees call your number, they like to do it in a rhyme over the microphone. This location also has a drive-thru.

Get an Italian beef sandwich, dipped with extra gravy. Ask for some pickles and cheese sauce on the side. Combine.....and, indulge in the Italian beef sandwich, an extraordinary creation drenched in rich, savory gravy. This culinary marvel, adorned with crisp pickles and creamy cheese sauce, is a reinvention of the classic Philly cheese sandwich. Each bite promises to be a symphony of flavors and textures, a transformative experience that will linger in your memory long after the last morsel.

We only have ever gone through drive thru here and this most recent time was awesome. Cannon really helped us out with a paper menu and offered the $1 hot dog deal they were having & when we ordered our Italian beef sandwiches with no sauce/ au jus on the sandwich itself, he already knew that we wanted it on the side and added an additional one without us even mentioning we wanted more! There's never enough with just one side of it!! We LOVE eating at Portillo's!!

I honestly didn't know there was a portillos in the East Valley. I always drove over to Tempe. This location had a huge parking lot, their great decor, and delicious food. I always tend to gravitate towards their sandwiches, which is a no-brainer, but this time, I opted for their spicy chopped salad. It was full of ingredients and was spicy for sure. Luckily, I didn't get hit with the periodic capsaicin sweats. I wasn't sure if it would be big enough for dinner, but it certainly was filling. My backup was to get a sandwich, and fries of the salad weren't enough, but I didn't need to... which was a bad thing as I wanted both! Ha! Would definitely come back, perhaps beat my challenge to have both a salad and sandwich with fries. Game on! See you next time, portillos!

I recently visited Portillo's for a sandwich. Portillo's beef and sausage sandwich is a solid choice. The combination of beef and sausage delivers a satisfying taste that's worth trying out. My own regret was not ordering a side of cheese sauce.

Just finished dinner and my belly is full! This is my first time at the Gilbert location and it has a lot of space. A lot of antique pieces everywhere. Even pics of Jay Leno, Guy Fieri and a couple more famous guys that has visited a Portillo although not this location. This location had the roundabout walk in and a handicap friendly door. Plenty of parking in its own private space. As you walk in there are some Portillo merch to add to your bill if wanted along with their chocolate cake. For a family of 4 we enjoyed the new Spicy Chicken salad, New chicken Greek Salad with red vinegar garlic dressing, large crinkle fries (which were too salty for my taste), broiled chicken sandwich, an Italian beef sandwich (which I've had better but still a good substitute), sweet and hot peppers ($.99), cheese sauce ($1.29 I think), a small Diet Coke and a small root beer. All in all it was good and quick meal for Friday evening.

Mywife and I tried the new spicy chicken salad & the new pecan chicken salad & both were delicious. I personally like the spicy chicken salad better because the chicken had a slight bite to it plus the salad had small pieces of their giardiniera peppers in it (added flavor without being hot). We also split a large order of onion rings - amazing. Nicely breaded and fried to perfection. Overall, an outstanding lunch. Not crowded. Very friendly & helpful at the counter when ordering and the food comes out pretty fast. Plenty of parking.
